Bravo, Pollard in 14-man T&T squad

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Indian Premier League stars Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have been included in a 14-man Trinidad and Tobago squad for next month’s regional limited overs championship.

The all-rounders, who are currently in South Africa representing Mumbai Indians in the Champions League Twenty20, will be at the forefront of the squad which will defend the title they won last year in Guyana.

All eyes will be on Bravo and Pollard especially after they turned down central retainer contracts for the West Indies Cricket Board, opting to take the freelance route with their services.

There are no surprises in the squad which will be led by perennial captain Daren Ganga and which also includes the West Indies trio of Adrian Barath, Darren Bravo and Denesh Ramdin.

Former West Indies Under-19 batsman Jason Mohammed has forced his way into the team after a three-year hiatus. The right-hander was prolific in the trial matches, scoring impressive half-centuries in his two innings.

He will be joined by 21-year-old all-rounder Kevon Cooper who has been rewarded for a good showing in the Caribbean Twenty20 championship.
