Raul Frank wants public to decide if he is good, great or just old

Raul Frank’s mission to Guyana this time is simple. He is here to put to rest all the rumors that he is an old fighter, a washed up boxer.

Frank, who lost to the late Vernon Forrest in his only World title fight back in 2001, is convinced that he is one of the better fighters to have come out of Guyana.

Frank will oppose `Deadly’ Denny Dalton on Saturday night in a 10-round middleweight bout on the Caribbean Fury2 card at the Princess Hotel.

Frank yesterday told Stabroek Sport that he hopes that  Dalton will come prepared for the fight and prove to patrons that he is ‘truly one of the elite fighters in Guyana.”

Raul Frank: Good, Great or Old?

Frank, who last fought in 2008 against Winston Pompey at the Guyana National Stadium, stated that he will not reveal his workload in preparation for the bout but he will show to Guyana that he is still a good boxer “despite the rumours,” that he is an old boxer.

“I am going to let the public decide whether I am a great boxer or just an ordinary fighter,” Frank said.
In other fights Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) and Global Boxing Union (GBU) heavyweight champion Gwendolyn O’Neil and Pamela London have been added to the fight card. WIBA bantamweight champion Shondell ‘Mystery Lady’ Alfred will also appear on the card to fight Olga ‘La Mona’ Julio of Colombia junior bantamweight in a six-round non-title fight while World-ranked Moore will match gloves against Venezuela’s Breilor ‘Zulianito de Oro’ Teran in a 10 round super bantamweight bout.
