Albion and Rose Hall Town Gizmos reach final

Arch rivals Albion Community Centre and Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets cricket clubs will clash in the final of the 2010 Berbice Cricket Board/Tenelec Inc., limited overs first division tournament on Sunday at the Albion Community Centre ground from 9am.

The two teams qualified for the final after posting wins over West Berbice and Bermine respectively on Saturday.
Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets defeated Bermine by 117 runs while Albion Community Centre got past West Berbice by 72 runs.

At the Area “H” ground in Rose Hall Town, the home team scored 293-7 in a game reduced to 45 overs due to preparation moisture.

Opener Renwick Batson and Delbert Hicks put on 177 for the first wicket in 24 overs.
Hicks made 101, Batson 80, Jason Sinclair, 30 and Esaun Crandon 25.
Bowling for Bermine, Devon Clements took 2 for 41 and Julian Moore 2 for 50.
Bermine in reply were dismissed for 176 as Ravi narine snatched 7-33 from 8.2 overs while Fudadin, Shawn Perreira and Eon Hooper took a wicket a piece.

Skipper Eugene La Fleur scored 49, Devon Clements, 42 and Keron De Jesus 36 were the top scorers.
At the Blairmont Community Centre ground, Albion reached 222 for 9 off 45 overs with former Test player Sewnarine Chattergoon blasting 116.

He received support from his younger brother Harrinarine Chattergoon 35 and national senior player Veerasammy Permaul 28. Bowling for West Berbice, national pacer Keon Joseph ended with 3 wickets for 39 runs and Krisendat Ramoo 2 for 40 while Jermaine Reynolds, Steffon Adams and Carlston Nurse each took a wicket each.

West Berbice in reply were dismissed for 150 in 37 overs as only Kwesi Mentore 34, Steffon Adams 16 and Keith Fraser 12 reached double figures.

Off spinner Ramnarine Chattergoon took 3 wickets for 26 runs, Veerasammy Permaul 4 for 32 and Harrinarine Chattergoon 2 for 30.
