The Guyanese duo of Randolph Jerome and Shawn `Bubbly’ Beveney both got on the scoresheets to help their respective teams claim victories in the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association FA Trophy round-of-16 encounter on Wednesday night.
Jerome opened the scoring for his club DIRECTV North East Stars in the 38th minute and this led to a flurry of goals as they defeated West Side Starz 5-2.
Beveney’s side Caledonia AIA got past Biche United in convincing fashion 4-1. Beveney scored the fourth goal of the match to take his team to a 3-1 lead after strikes from Ryan Stweart and Jean-Luke Rochford had given their team a 2-1 advantage.
Both teams will now progress to the round of 16 where North East Stars will come up against Goal City of Tobago, and Caledonia will battle Defence Force. Both matches will be played on November 29.
