Persaud, Khan in the lead

Kriskal Persaud and David Khan (1386), with four points each are in the lead at the end of round five  of the Neal and Massy/Seven Seas National Chess Championships on Wednesday at the Ocean Spray Hotel, Kitty.
Persaud’s fifth round encounter against Learie Webster ended in a draw while Khan defeated Ron Motilall.

The two players have each secured three wins and two draws.
Taffin Khan (1727) follows with three-and-a-half points after defeating Frankie Farley on Wednesday. Also winning on Wednesday was Errol Tiwari, who defeated Ryan Singh to occupy joint fifth position with Farley on two points.

Webster occupies the fourth position with two and one half points.
Singh (1456) is seventh with one and a half points while Motilall is in the cellar position with half a point.

Matches continue today from 9am with rounds six through to nine expected to be completed today and tomorrow.
