Cush missing from 22 man Twenty20 squad

Following Friday’s completion of the Guyana Cricket Board’s Inter-County Twenty20 cricket tournament the national cricket selectors met and shortlisted 22 players to prepare for next year’s regional tournament.

Missing from the squad is all rounder Lennox Cush who was a member of the Guyana team that participated in this year’s Airtel Champions League tournament in South Africa and the only regional player to capture two Twenty20 hat tricks

has been included in the side after consistent performances recently along with Shemroy Barrington, Stephen Latcha, Zaheer Mohammed, Anthony Bramble, Andre Stoll, Veerasammy Permaul  and Kellon Carmichael.

Reliable West Indies middle order batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, whose omission from the Airtel Champions League side caused some measure of controversy has been named in the squad.

The squad reads: Ramnaresh Sarwan, Steven Jacobs, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Christopher Barnwell, Travis Dowlin, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Jonathan Foo, Royston Crandon, Derwin Christian, Esaun Crandon, Richard Ramdeen, Narsingh Deonarine, Andre Stoll, Assad Fudadin, Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Shemroy Barrington, Leon Johnson, Anthony Bramble, Kellon Carmichael, Stephen Latcha and Zaheer Mohammed.  The players are asked to report to the Guyana Cricket Board Indoor Facility from 9am today for a fitness test.
