Konshens for concerts in Linden, Berbice

Residents of Berbice and Linden are expected to be in for a treat when popular Jamaican artiste Konshens arrives later this month to perform in two concerts.

Wildfire Productions is spearheading this initiative, and the organization, in a release, says that its aim is to take entertainment to non-traditional locations in Guyana. The concerts are being held as part of Guyana’s 40th Republic Anniversary Mash Celebrations.

The first concert is slated for February 27 at McKenzie Sports Club Ground in Linden and it kicks off at 8 pm. Music will be provided by Trendsetters and Forensic Sound systems.

The following night on February 28, the action will turn to the New Amsterdam Technical Institute Ground in Berbice at the same time. Trendsetters will team up with Showtime and Stereo Sonics to provide the music for this event.

These include one time Soca Monarch Marlon ‘Malo’ Webster, Osley ‘Spida’ Hopkinson and “whoever wins the 2010 Carib Soca monarch competition on the two locations tour”.

Meanwhile, Georgetown residents need not feel left out, since there will be a Club Show on Friday, February 26 at a venue to be decided later.
