Directed by Ron Robinson (the Theatre Company) and produced by Gem Madhoo Nascimento (GEMS Theatre Productions), the Link Show’s huge cast includes veterans like Henry Rodney, Nazim Hussain, Howard Lorimer, Ajay Baksh, Lavonne George, Simone Dowding, Sherry Ann Dyal, Sonia Yarde and Michael Ignatius; and new but known comics like Linden ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Kijana Lewis, Tishondra Innis, Clement Stanford and Quesi Edmondson. Newcomers include Francis Bailey, Raymond Persaud, Paul and Sean Budnah.

The first Link Show was performed in December 1981 and it has become an annual tradition. It is the only satirical production of its kind in Guyana.

Following tonight’s opening, there will be two shows tomorrow at 4 pm and 8 pm, then one 8 pm show on Monday, February 22. There will be no show on February 23, but they continue on February 24 and 25.

Tickets are on sale at the National Cultural Centre and Nigel’s Supermarket and cost $1,500, $1,000 and $700.
