BowenForbes seeks to stir interest in the arts

Artist and poet Jorge BowenForbes has resettled in Guyana and hopes to attract public interest in his watercolour paintings.

BowenForbes departed British Guiana in 1962 and travelled to various countries before finally settling in the United States of America in 1966. Whilst there, he established a reputation for being an author, poet and artist. From Cambridge, England, in 1996 he was listed in the International Biographical Centre – Men of Achievement and in 1997, was listed in the Decree of International Letters of Cultural Achievement. Other accolades include: World’s Who’s Who Hall of Fame 1998; the Gold Star Award in 1998- a symbol of outstanding achievement; the order of international fellowship 1998 and 2000 outstanding people of the 20th century 1999 among others.
Meanwhile in the US, his work was also featured in Who’s who in America 1996, the Silver Anniversary 25th Edition of Who’s who in America, 1996 and Great minds of the 21st century.

BowenForbes’s work has been recognised and awarded by the American Watercolour Society and the Allied Artists of America and he has been the recipient of five international medals (three of them gold). While his paintings were published internationally in such books as the Best of Watercolour Painting; the best of oil painting, best of acrylic painting and the American artist magazine 1984. His poetry was published in National Library of Poetry and the American Poetry Annual.

He is an elected signature member of the American Watercolour Society and the National Watercolour Society. His works also form part of the collections of the El Paso Museum of Art, Texas; the McCreery Cummings Collection and the Leon Loards Gallery, Alabama, USA.
