North Ruimveldt woman tried to sell house illegally

A woman was yesterday charged with trying to sell a house illegally.
Gillian Hyman, of 2948 North Ruimveldt, was admitted to bail in the sum of $100,000, after pleading not guilty to attempting to commit a felony when she appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

The allegation against Hyman is that on April 22, 2010, at Georgetown, she tried to obtain money from Lennox Cush by pretending that she was Joan Mars and in a position to sell a house valued $5M.
The self-employed woman denied the charge.

Prosecutor Stephen Telford told the court that the facts were as charged and no further details were given to the court regarding what had transpired on the day in question.

The unrepresented Hyman, who said that she was innocent of the charge, then made a successful request to be granted bail and the case was transferred to Court Two for today.
