Bandits rob Maria’s Lodge couple

The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 8.45 pm yesterday at Maria’s Lodge, Essequibo Coast, during which accounts clerk Anil Durga and his reputed wife were attacked and robbed by three masked men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.

Investigations, according to the police, revealed that the perpetrators entered the home through an open door and held up the victims who were then tied up with duct tape.

The men then ransacked the building and took away a quantity of artificial jewellery, a cell phone and US$20 and fled.
