A Ruby man was granted bail when he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s court yesterday on a charge of rape.
Ravindra Singh, 23, of Ruby, East Bank Essequibo was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was granted bail in the sum of $120, 000 by Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin. It is alleged that on September 5 last year, he engaged in sexual penetration with the female without her consent.
A report was made to the police and following investigations, he was arrested and charged.
After being placed on bail, Singh was ordered to return to court on March 4 at Vreed-en-Hoop.
