US-based Guyanese robbed of car, suitcase by gunmen

US-based Guyanese Ray Williams, 49, was robbed by gunmen last night on Princes Street and his vehicle stolen. The car was later found at St Phillips Green in the city with some of its parts missing.

Police say that around 9.20 pm two men armed with guns “confronted and robbed” Williams, 49 years, who resides in the United States of America.

Police said that investigations revealed that Williams was at Princes Street, when he was attacked and robbed of motorcar PKK 9921, a cellular phone, jewellery and a suitcase with other articles after which the perpetrators fled.

The car was later recovered by the police at St Phillips Green, Georgetown, with several parts missing.

Investigations are in progress.
