Better Hope man remanded over `Bolo’ murder

The man accused of murdering Linden businessman Albert Joseph called `Bolo’ was today remanded to prison after appearing before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Collis Collison of 148 South Better Hope was not required to plead to the capital offence which stated that between January 3 and 7 at Sunflower Street, Wismar, Linden he murdered Joseph.

Collison was also arraigned on two counts of armed robbery when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on January 7 at Dageraad Avenue, Mc Kenzie, Linden, being armed with a gun, he robbed Nigel Hescott and Rajindra Tiwari of one gold chain valued $160,000 and $250,000 respectively.

The accused was also not required to plead to these indictable charges.

The unrepresented accused was remanded to prison and his matters were transferred to the Christianburg Magistrates’ Court for March 2.
