Students of the South Ruimveldt Secondary School this afternoon stumbled upon the bound and gagged body of an elderly woman in the area.
Dead is Babali Sadiq, also known as ‘Khirul Rajidam’ and ‘Aunty‘ of Lot 2115 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt Park. The woman lived alone and was said to be in her early 70s.
The woman’s body was found on the bottom flat of her home in the kitchen area a few yards away from a confectionary stand from which she made a living by selling food items to school children.
Police investigators spent close to three hours at the scene today scouring the area for clues as investigations into the woman’s death continue.
