Suriname faced with 50 `unbreakable’ contracts

(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO — The government is unable to replace around 50 top executives at state and state-owned companies without paying them, a fortune. Their positions have been secured in contracts. Furthermore, the sky-high salaries of numerous top-executives are cause for anxiety. At yesterday’s press conference, Vice-President Robert Ameerali did not want to say what top-positions are involved in the “unbreakable” contracts.
