Repairs by Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) to a damaged sewerage line at the junction of Waterloo and New Market streets will be completed today.

The construction site, at the junction of New Market and Waterloo streets, where repairs are being done to a damaged sewerage line.

GWI’s Public Relations Officer Timothy Austin told Stabroek News that the work had been started about a week and a half ago and would have been completed sooner but was hindered by heavy rainfall for several days.  Austin also stated that the repairs had cost approximately $500,000. However, he said that GWI was fully prepared to meet the expense.

Austin also expressed apologies to all those who would have been affected but reassured that GWI had responded promptly when it was reported that there was a burst line in the area.
