Third man charged with murder of Guyanese butcher in Antigua

Another man has been charged with the murder of Guyanese butcher  Rondel George, who was gunned down in Antigua on August 21, 2010, the Antigua Observer has reported.

According to the report eighteen-year-old Chester Joseph of South Street now joins co-accused Jevorny Richards, 31, of Bendals and Lasana Anthony Riley, 25, of Hatton who are on remand to await the date for committal, set for Wednesday.

Joseph appeared before Magistrate Joan Fung on Thursday and was remanded to prison. He will remain behind bars like his co-accused and will be further remanded every seven days by the District B magistrate as the law mandates, if the committal process does not take place Wednesday.

George, 34, was allegedly robbed and shot multiple times about the body, including a gunshot wound to the forehead. George who resided at Vivian Richards Street, was reportedly amongst a group of men when the incident occurred.

Richards and Riley were arrested and charged about a week apart in October 2010. They have been on remand ever since.
