Murder accused recharged

The matter against murder accused Philbert McPherson was on Monday last dismissed because the individual had been charged under a law that no longer exists.

As a result, he was recharged yesterday when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Magistrate Sewnarine-Beharry then transferred the matter to Court 2 where McPherson’s case was adjourned to June 7 by Magistrate Sueann Lovell.

The allegation against Philbert McPherson is that on November 24, 2008 at Middle Street, Georgetown he murdered Ricardo Henriques.
