Twelve Guyanese students have been offered medical scholarships at the Latin American School of Medicine “Salvador de Allende” in Venezuela.
According to a press release from the Venezuelan Embassy in Guyana, the students were scheduled to travel to Venezuela yesterday to pursue studies in Community Medicine.
The release said this is the second group of Guyanese students to receive an “Integral Scholarship,” which includes all expenses such as personal expenses, accommodation, food, laundry services, specialised library, medical attention, academic orientation, recreation and roundtrip airfare, from the beginning and conclusion of their studies.
Ambassador Dario Morandy was quoted as saying that the school receives annually students from 23 countries. The scholarship was created by President Hugo Chavez as part of the policy of cooperation that Venezuela maintains with different countries of the world.
