Case against McLean, Ramlal discharged

Norman McLean and Evelyn Sita Ramlal were discharged today after the prosecution failed to make a case against them as regards the allegation that they forged an adoption order for a child.

Magistrate Fazil Azeez who presided over the case informed the court that a prima facie case was not made out against the defendants and as such they were discharged.

The particulars of the offence stated that between December 10, 2004 and March 18, 2009 at Georgetown, with intent to defraud, they conspired with each other and person or persons unknown to forge an adoption order in respect to Arianne Anastacia Vidya McCall, purporting to show that the said adoption order was issued on December 14, 2000, knowing same to be false.
