Housewife remanded over violence against a man

A 48-year-old housewife who was charged for inflicting bodily harm on a man was yesterday remanded to prison after she appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Connie Stanton is that on August 28 at Georgetown she inflicted grievous bodily harm on Travel Chase.

The woman pleaded not guilty to the offence after the charge was read to her.

The accused, who was refused bail is expected to return to court on September 12 at Court Six.
