Four dead in Suriname boating accident

(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO – After a boating accident on the Suriname River yesterday evening, four people reportedly died and two were seriously wounded.  A speedboat with six persons on board collided with a pontoon near Overbridge. As the paper went to press, three bodies had been recovered while a fourth was still sought. The wounded were taken to the Emergency Room of the Academic Hospital. Police on location refused to divulge the identities of the victims.

Meanwhile, the Caribbean Media Corporation has identified three of the dead as Ravin Pahladsingh, the son of shipping magnate Radjen Pahladsingh; Daniel Ramawadoebe and Shaief Jahangier.
