A young couple died this evening following a motorcycle accident on the Houston Public Road on the East Bank of Demerera.
Dead are 24–year-old Lloyd McKend and his partner Roshana Smith both of Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara. The couple, who share a child, were heading home around 7:30 pm when McKend reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and slammed into an electrical pole.
They both sustained head injuries and McKend was said to have died on the spot. The duo was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
