Subscribers of telecommunications provider Digicel are now able to access BlackBerry App World applications on their smart phones.
In a release issued yesterday, the company announced that its customers will be able to access the feature directly from BlackBerry App World and also make payments from their monthly phone bill or pay instantly using prepaid credit.
BlackBerry App World™ is the official store offering the feature for BlackBerry smart phones and it is designed to allow customers to easily discover and download applications.
Head of Sales of Digicel, Nalini Vieira was quoted as saying that, “Digicel is delighted to provide such a simple and secure method for customers to purchase applications they desire from BlackBerry App World™. Some applications on app world are free while others are sold so getting any app will be much easier with this new option.”
She added that, ’Once customers go to the desired app, they will be required to select payment method. You must then choose carrier and select Digicel,” she concluded.
According to the release, BlackBerry users can purchase applications to suit their needs and interests from a number of categories, among them business, education, entertainment, finance, shopping, news, weather, music and audio and health and wellness.
The company encouraged its BlackBerry subscribers to download the latest version of App World (3.0) by using the link www.blackberry.com/appworld since some persons have encountered difficulties accessing the feature with the older versions.
