Agricola man on assault, abusive language charges

An Agricola man yesterday appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine Beharry charged with assault and using abusive language.

The Georgetown Magistrates’ Court heard that on November 14, Javier Wang, 19, and a juvenile had an argument with Natalie Yarde over them entering her yard.

Wang allegedly made use of a series of indecencies to her. She also told the police that Wang and the youth discharged a gun at her but police did not recover any spent shells or a firearm on them when a search was conducted.

Wang, who works at Amazon Distributors, denied the prosecution’s allegations and he was placed on self bail for the abusive language charge and on $10,000 bail for the assault charge. He will return to court on November 21 for a hearing.
