Rosebel records gold output in Suriname

(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO – Rosebel Goldmines (RGM) has achieved a record production in Brokopondo of nearly 400,000 troy ounces (12,440 kilos) of gold. RGM’s parent company IamGold announces this in its annual report for 2010. “The potential of Rosebel’s continued growth is substantial and this year, we will go forward with an aggressive expansion plan that is expected to help increase annual production by between 400,000 and 450,000 ounces”, RGM General Director Renaud Adams writes in the report. Suriname provides nearly half of IamGold’s total gold production out of seven mines in North and South America and Africa.
