Jamaica to host major anti-corruption conference

(Jamaica Observer) The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Monday launched a Regional Anti-Corruption Law-Enforcement Conference aimed at forging an alliance between Caribbean law enforcement entities.

The conference, which will be held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on March 22 and 23, will see regional law-enforcement officials, state and non-security oversight agencies, as well as ministerial policymakers sharing ideas on tackling corruption in their countries.

Among the conference’s objectives are the examination and improvement of regional law-enforcement initiatives, the development of a declaration of intent for regional law-enforcement anti-corruption collaboration, and the establishment of a network for regional law-enforcement co-operation in anti-corruption activities.
