The police say they are investigating an incident that occurred at about 0010h yesterday at Ann’s Grove, ECD, during which Kwesi Fernandes, 31 years of Two Friends Village, ECD, was shot and injured by a licensed firearm holder.
Police say that initial investigations revealed that licensed firearm holder Eon Evans, 38 years of Victoria, ECD, and his brother, who were imbibing at the Market Square, became embroiled in an argument with a female during which they were attacked by a group of men, including Fernandes who was allegedly armed with an ice-pick. Evans, the police said, was wounded to his right shoulder during which he discharged his gun hitting Fernandes to his right forearm.
Both men were taken to the GPHC where they were treated and sent away and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
