More humour, less vitriol on campaign trail

Dear Editor,
The purpose of this letter is to appeal to speakers at election meetings and rallies to heed the truism that while everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, no one is entitled to his/her own facts. There is however the expectation that opinions will not be offensive to the norms of fairness, commonsense, and decency. I believe as well that the election environment can be immensely improved if there is more humour and less vitriol and ad hominem characterisations.

Yours faithfully,
Rashleigh E Jackson.
