It is Ramotar not Granger who is pleading for votes from the security forces

Dear Editor,

The Commander in Chief, Mr Bharrat Jagdeo, in a blunt act of desperation, suggested that APNU’s presidential candidate, Brig David Granger (rtd) is being nice to the members of the security forces because he wants their votes.

However, it is the presidential candidate, Mr Donald Ramotar, a man described recently in public by Mr Jagdeo as being “selected” to lead the PPP/C, who is pleading for votes from the security forces.

In a letter to the members of the security forces, Mr Ramotar praised them by saying: “The PPP/C Administration has recognized an increasingly credible performance by the Disciplined Forces in implementing its security policies and strategies.”

This, of course, is a misrepresentation which is typical of Mr Jagdeo and Mr Ramotar, individuals who are not accountable to anyone.

After Minister Sash Sawh was assassinated, for example, Mr Ramotar lamented that the “army is holidaying in Buxton.” And that, “It is a great failure on the security forces that they have not made a breakthrough in their investigations.”

Yours faithfully,
Rakesh Rampertab
