Dear Editor,
I would like to congratulate Stabroek News on its 25th anniversary. While other Guyanese-based newspapers have been known to exploit the vulnerable for financial or political gain, Stabroek News cannot be placed in this category. Stabroek News has refrained from showing half amputated bodies or children in despair because this newspaper does not look to garner attention unconventionally.
It is on a different level of morality. Stabroek News, like any other news outlet has been under constant criticism, more specifically being recently referred to as “vultures” and “carrion crows.” It can be safely assumed that even if this was true that supposed behaviour was fuelled by the desire to better inform the people.
And anyone that can think rationally knows that they only target people who aim to desecrate our once prosperous society.
I trust that Mr Anand Persaud and staff will continue to adhere to the newspaper’s reputation for integrity and principle, especially in the homestretch of the ongoing elections.
