Meusa edges Boucher on tiebreak

Former national chess champion Wendell Meusa with six points was declared the winner of the Caribbean Container Incorporated (CCI) Chess Tournament hosted by the Guyana Chess Federation (GCF)which ended on Sunday.

According to a press release from the GCF,  Meusa and Pierre Boucher  ended with six points from five wins and two draws.

Meusa’s two draws came against National Champion, Taffin Khan and Boucher who also drew with GCF president Shiv Nandalall.
Meusa was given the nod over Boucher on the tiebreak.

Prize winners at the conclusion of the Caribbean Containers Incorporated chess tournament which ended on Sunday. Winners of the junior and senior categories Suhai Feng and Wendell Meusa are third and fourth from left respectively.

Khan finished with five wins, one draw and one loss against Boucher in round four to finish third on five and a half points.

Suhai Feng returned to form to capture the junior category.

Feng finish with six and a half points out of a possible seven.
He was closely followed by Anthony Drayton with  six points while Rashad Hussain finished on five points and Saeed Ali on four points to round out the top four podium finishers. Roberto Neto was adjudged the most improved player in the junior category.

Human Resource Manager of CCI, Mr. Jimmy Lorrimer presented the players with their prizes while the GCF expressed special thanks to CCI.
