Demerara win by 108 runs

Demerara completed an 108 run win over Essequibo yesterday on the final day of their first round Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Under-19 Inter County match at the Providence National Stadium.

Set to make 211 after dismissing Demerara for 123 in their second innings, Essequibo folded for 103 approximately half an hour before the scheduled close of play.

The Demerara and Essequibo sides congratulate each other following the match yesterday.

Amir Khan was the chief wrecker with 4-16 while Chandrapaul Hemraj, 2-20, Hamish Yadram, 2-11 and Raj Nannan 2-24 were the other wicket takers. Kevin Boodie with 24 was the top scorer.

Earlier, Demerara resuming on 72-3 were dismissed for 123 in their second innings leaving Essequibo the task of scoring  211 runs for an outright win.
