Guyana U-15 team for regional tournament in T’dad

The Guyana Cricket Board hosted a dinner event Wednesday evening at the Wind Jammer Hotel in Queen Street, Kitty, for the Guyana Under-15 team prior to their departure for the regional Under-15 competition commencing in Trinidad from July 2 – 15.

The team left the country yesterday at 2:30pm and will begin their campaign tomorrow in the opening game of the competition against host Trinidad. Guyana Cricket Board public relations officer Terry Holder was the master of ceremonies. Among those in attendance were Director of Sport Neil Kumar, GCB officials including President Chetram Singh, Vice President B. Singh, Senior Selector Claude Rafael,

Assistant Secretary Ronald Williams, Cricket Development Officer Reon King and the three  selectors who selected the squad, Michael Franco Hiles, Fizul Bacchus and Nizul Drepaul, as well as the parents of the departing players. All the speakers praised the team’s potential all-round ability, while Coach Adrian Amsterdam expressed confidence in  his team’s chances after the good preparation they had during their stay at the GCB’s hostel at the LBI complex over the last few weeks.
