Universal DVD donates to BCB and RHTY&S Club

Berbice business Universal DVD Store of Trinity Street, New Amsterdam recently made two donations to the Berbice Cricket Board and the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club.

The store donated one HP Deskjet printer to the Berbice Cricket Board and $50000 to the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club for its weekly feeding of the poor programme.

Treasurer of the BCB Anil Beharry at the presentation stated that the board had approached owner of the company, Vickram Suebarran for the donation after the old printer at the BCB had stopped working and he readily agreed to assist.

The printer, Beharry said, would be used to conduct the administrative and public relations work of the BCB and would be under the care of the secretary Angela Haniff who is also administrator of the board’s office.

Secretary of the RHTY&S Club Hilbert Foster expressed gratitude to Suebarran and Universal DVD for the donation to the club and noted that it was the third such contribution for 2011.

Foster stated that Universal DVD was working with the club to assist the less fortunate, especially single parent households.

Suebarran hailed the BCB and the RHTY&S Club as role model organisations that  were making a positive impact on the lives of youths and said he was delighted to assist them to fulfill their mandates.

Suebarran also pledged his continued support for both organisations and noted that he was actively involved in Berbice Cricket via his sponsorship of the popular Universal DVD Cricket teams.

Supervisor of the store, Roy Singh presented the donations to representatives of both organisations.
