Coca Cola sponsored East Bank League kicks off tomorrow

The Coca Cola sponsored East Bank Football League will kick off tomorrow with two matches at the Diamond Community Centre ground as eight teams battle for supremacy and prizes totaling over $700,000 dollars.

Plans for the tournament were unveiled at the official Launching yesterday at Banks DIH head office at Thirst Park.

President of the East Bank Demerara Football Association (EBDA) Wayne Francois said that his association was pleased to be partnering with Banks DIH and Coca Cola for this tournament which will feature 28 matches to be played at the Diamond and Thirst Park grounds.

The eight competing teams will face off in two groups  with Group A comprising Timehri Panthers, Kuru Kuru Lions, Yarrowkabra FC and Banks DIH while Group B will feature Grove Hi Tec, Kuru Kuru Warriors, Diamond United and Mocha Champs.

Banks DIH Sales and Marketing Executive Carlton Joao said that his company was reaching out to the East Bank community but expressed disappointment that more playing facilities are not available for the tournament.

Timehri Panthers will square off with Banks DIH in the opening encounter while Kuru Kuru will tackle Diamond United in the other encounter.

The tournament is sponsored by local beverage Banks DIH and Coca Cola.
