The 20-year-old right-hander stroked 96, an innings that formed the foundation of CCC’s 251 after they recovered from losing captain Omar Phillips to the first ball of the opening day of the sixth series at 3Ws Oval.

At the close, Guyana were struggling at 11 for one.

Corbin, who has already struck a century and four half-centuries this season, was in exceptional form again.

In an innings lasting 134 balls and 198 minutes, he played boldly to hit 10 fours and four sixes, to move his runs rally for the season to 495.

He strode to the wicket with CCC tottering at three runs for two wickets after Romel Currency slashed fast bowler Rensford Beaton (2-25) to Assad Fudadin at third slip, to depart without scoring.

Corbin added 41 for the third wicket with Shacoya Thomas (10) before posting another 72 for the fourth wicket with veteran left-hander Floyd Reifer (37).

His ambition got the better of him,
however, as he holed out to Brandon Bess at long-on off left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul (3-58), with a century within his grasp.

CCC then lost their way to slip to 179 for eight before Kevin McClean (52 not out) and Ryan Austin (20), provided a late innings flourish with a 71-run, ninth wicket stand.Medium pacer Assad Fudadin finished with four for 42.
