Aranguez in second position with four more games

The Trinidad & Tobago national two-day championship league continued over the weekend with Kellon Carmichael and Deon Ferrier of Aranguez being among the wickets.

Carmichael took 3-39 and Ferrier captured 3-45 as they restricted Explorers to 199 all out. In reply, Aranguez made 253 all out with Michael Brown making 54, Rishi Paria 52 and  Rohan Parsran 35.

Ferrier, returning with the bat, chipped in with 30.

With a deficit of 54, Explorers, batting a second time, were bowled out for 189 with Rakesh Seecharran taking 7-63 and Carmichael picking up 2-19. Aranguez were set a challenging 139 to win outright from 14 overs did not disappoint.

Carmichael, asked to open the batting, got his team to a flying start with 23 from 10 balls. But it was Kevon Pierre’s 40 not out from 26 balls and West Indies U-15 captain Vikash Mohan who scored  39 from 16 balls that won the game for Aranguez in the last over.

Aranguez ended on 140-5 to take full points. Aranguez now maintain the second position on the points table with four more games to play.
