Caribbean Airlines flying Alpha United to CONCACAF games

Caribbean Airlines stepped in yesterday to assist the Alpha United team to travel to Costa Rica for the CONCACAF Champions League from July 26.

At a small presentation ceremony yesterday hosted at the Georgetown Football Club, Alpha United president Odinga Lumumba thanked the airline for their largesse that will see the 25-member team (20 players and five officials) travelling free of cost.

According to Lumumba a ticket for one person is US$1800 and the club was in a plight to generate funds to meet this cost; therefore, the airline’s gesture is “greatly appreciated.” Some members of the team are travelling today while the remainder will leave tomorrow for the match set for Club Sport Herediano on Tuesday.
