Police say that investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 1300h yesterday at Triumph Access Road, ECD, and which resulted in the death of Shahabudeen Deepan, 46 years of Martyrsville, Mon Repos, ECD.
Initial investigations, police say, revealed that Deepan was cycling along the roadway when it is alleged that he attempted to cross the road and was struck down by a motor lorry. He was pronounced DOA at the GPHC.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
