Lisle Austin in hot seat again

(Barbados Nation) Former CONCACAF vice-president Lisle Austin is in football’s hot seat again.

But yesterday, Austin declared his hands were clean following allegations he partnered with Austin “Jack” Warner in taking an unauthorized mortgage on the soccer body’s Bds$45 million property in Trinidad and Tobago, known as the Dr Joao Havelange Centre Of Excellence.

“I have nothing to hide, and as a trustee. All I did was sign,” Austin told the WEEKEND NATION, responding to charges by new CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb who also on Wednesday told delegates from the region (Latin America, Mexico and United States) about a list of financial mismanagement allegations against Warner and Chuck Blazer, a former general secretary.

Football’s governing body, FIFA, is expected to hear more about the series of charges at its full congress being held today.
