An Eccles man was shot this morning after he was allegedly caught attempting to break into a motor vehicle at Bartica.
Police said the wounded trunker is Avinash Moore, 23, of Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
A media release stated that around 01:30 hrs Moore was shot to his right hand by licensed firearm holder Stephen Belle during a confrontation after he was allegedly found breaking into a motor vehicle in Belle’s residence at Second Avenue, Bartica.
Moore was treated at the Bartica Hospital and is in police custody assisting with investigations.
Stabroek News was unable to make contact with the man’s family.
