Ron Webster new private sector chairman

Managing Director of Caribbean Containers Incorporated, Ronald Webster is the new Chairman of the Private Sector Commission (PSC).

Following voting this afternoon, the rest of the executive comprises Vice-Chairman, Clinton Urling; Treasurer, Chandradat Chintamani; and Secretary, Andrew Astwood.

The move to elect a new Chairman comes in the wake of the fallout involving ex- Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company CEO Yog Mahadeo, who resigned from the chairmanship of the PSC, after he stepped down from the telecoms company when external auditors advised him of a “lapse of internal control” that occurred under his watch. Mahadeo on July 6, just days after being elected, tendered his resignation to the PSC, citing his resignation from the GT&T.
