T&T bar manager shot dead

(Trinidad Express) A father of a three was killed on Saturday afternoon outside his workplace in San Fernando.

Qadir George, 30, was speaking to a man outside the Landing Strip Bar at Coffee Street, around 3 p.m., when he was approached by two men, who shot George several times before running away.

He died in front of the bar.

Police removed 17 spent shells from the area.

George was the manager of the bar. An employee who was waiting in a nearby car was also shot. She is being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital.

Seven bullet holes were observed on the vehicle, a Nissan Almera.

George lived at Pleasantville, San Fernando.

He had two sons and a three-year-old daughter.

Officers from the San Fernando Police Station are continuing investigations.

The killing takes the murder toll for the year so far to 238, according to an Express tally.
