The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0630h. today on the New Road Public Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, WCD, and which resulted in the death of pedestrian Motiram Chatterpaul, 46 years, of New Road.
Investigations revealed that Chatterpaul attempted to cross the roadway and was struck down by a motor car. He was pronounced DOA at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
The driver of the motor car is in police custody, assisting with the investigations.
