Vendetta against Bajan Top Cop?

(Barbados Nation) Former Attorney General Dale Marshall thinks that Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin has been given a raw deal and should not allow himself to be transferred to another section of the public service.

Speaking against the background of the current disquiet in the Police Force, Marshall told the MIDWEEK NATION there appeared to be a vendetta against Dottin.

“The Commissioner ought not to allow himself to be removed from his substantive post of Commissioner to take up any other position for several reasons.

“One, he is one of the finest Commissioners of Police anywhere in the region. I had the privilege of working with him during the Cricket World Cup and I also as Attorney General had the privilege of working with him in other aspects of governance, and his contribution has been outstanding.

“Secondly, while it may seem as an alternative to move him to a different Government department, that really does not solve any problem. Are you going to have a Jeff Broomes-type situation in relation to the Police Force? Are you going to have a commission of inquiry to look into this?” he said.
