Jamaica cop riddled with bullets

(Jamaica Gleaner) A policeman was Thursday evening shot dead in Patrick City, St Andrew.

The police say the cop identified as Corporal Warren Campbell who was attached to the Organised Crime Investigation Division, was shot dead by gunmen around 8:45 p.m.

Campbell had just been taken home from work by his colleagues but went back outside, reportedly to speak with a woman, when men drove up in a car and opened fire hitting him multiple times in his upper body.

The men then sped away.

The corporal was pronounced dead at hospital.

His service weapon was not taken by the killers and our sources report that the woman was not injured.
