Five men cut their way out of Jamaica police station

(Jamaica Observer) KINGSTON, Jamaica – Police have released the names of the five men who escaped from the Portmore Police Lockup, St. Catherine this morning.

They are18-year-old Amir Hanson of Portmore Villa, Portmore, charged for shooting with intent; 19-year-old Andrew Edwards charged with robbery with aggravation; 33-year-old Marvin Barnett of Spanish town, charged with murder; 31-year-old Jomo Burnett of Gregory Park, St. Catherine, charged for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and 34-year-old Oshane Thomas of Braeton, St. Catherine, charged for illegal possession of firearm and robbery with aggravation.
Reports from the Portmore Police are that routine checks were made between the hours of 4:00 am and 4:50 am when it was observed that the bars and grille at the ventilated area in the cell had been cut and the five men were missing.

The police is asking anyone who has seen or anyone knowing the whereabouts of these men to contact the Portmore Police at 949-8422, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

The men reportedly cut their way out of their cells at the station, popularly known as the 100-man Police Station.
