Vryheid’s Lust man shot in robbery

The police say they are investigating an armed robbery committed on Chandradat Nandalall, of Vryheid’s Lust, ECD at about 0915h. today. He was attacked and robbed of a quantity of jewellery, by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, police said.

Investigations have revealed that Nandalall was sitting on a bench at a carwash, at Le Ressouvenir, Railway Embankment, ECD, when the men rode up on a motor cycle and demanded that he hand over his jewellery that he was wearing at the time. He hesitated and the pillion rider shot him to his left arm, relieved him of the jewellery and they escaped, police said.
Nandalall was taken to private hospital where he was hospitalised.

Investigations are continuing.
